Microsoft unveils new Windows 10S education PCs.

Microsoft unveiled a new personal computer in its "Surface" series for students Tuesday, in an attempt to recover lost ground against Google and its Chromebooks.

This new device, which will be equipped with the operating system Windows 10 S, was presented at an event dedicated to education in New York and will be sold from June in several countries, including the United States, for a base price of $ 999

"Our goal with Windows 10 S is to develop an open and dynamic ecosystem with the partners we have today," said Windows and Devices Group vice president Terry Myerson.

Microsoft partners in this project include Acer, ASUS, Dell, Fujitsu, HP, Samsung and Toshiba, Myerson said, noting that some tablets equipped with Windows 10 S were to be marketed for $ 189 in the coming months.

Devices such as the Google Chromebook serve to access programs and systems located in the "cloud" (dematerialized computing) and have a great success in US schools and universities, where they have imposed on competing products proposed by Microsoft And Apple.

The Windows 10 S system integrated in this device will be simplified and will allow access to some applications of Microsoft Office 365. Microsoft also announced on Wednesday an alliance with the Pearson publishing group to integrate 3D and augmented reality into some programs that could use the HoloLens virtual reality glasses developed by the computer group.
